5 Things to do While your Hair Grows Back!

It doesn’t matter if you’re trying to regrow your edges, have a thicker hairline or fill in Bald spots, you need a solid plan.

The first part of your plan is to realize that hair regrowth takes time, especially if your hair loss is from years of poor hair care habits.

And as long as your hair loss isn’t permanent, genetic or due to medical issues it’s possible to regrow it.

Keep reading for the 5 easy steps to take care of your hair while it grows back.

1. Avoid hairstyles that are too tight

super tight braids. ouch!

OUCH!

Ok, I feel like I shouldn’t even have to say this one but here goes…Take a break from any tight hairstyles.

Stay away from protective styles that are too tight or heavy.

Tight wigs can cause more damage — It could be the tension, the friction or the glue that leads to breakage.

Leave your edges out with your styles while you’re growing them back.

2. Wrap your hair before bed

You’re naked hair should never touch your cotton pillow! Always cover your hair with a satin scarf or bonnet before bed. Especially your edges.

The smooth texture of satin & silk fabric not only prevents friction and any potential breakage, but it also keeps your hair from losing moisture.

Protect your edges at all costs!

Our "Edges Matter" satin scarf is a great addition to your hair growth routine. It's slip proof, protective, gentle on hair & skin and easy to wash.

4. Change your plate.

healthy plate of food for hair health

I always say, this is the part of hair growth that no one wants to talk about.

What are you eating everyday? Is it cookies? Pizza? sugary drinks? Remember, healthy hair starts on the inside and if your body isn’t getting nutrients then it’s Time to make a change to your plate.

A poor diet makes it impossible for your body to replenish its supplies of vitamins and minerals. If this situation is your norm then you can forget about having lush and beautiful hair!

Make sure to always include protein rich foods into your daily meals. Instead of reaching for processed foods, go for whole foods packed with antioxidants, like spinach, red peppers, avocado, and eggs.

5. Treat your scalp

Healthy scalp = Healty hair. Therefore, you need to show your scalp some love. This is where your hair growth oils and treatments come in. Scalp stimulation is also important to help increase blood flow to the scalp. (something that's important for hair growth). So, be sure to use your scalp treatments daily or as recommended.

Why does my hair grow so slow?

Like we said in the beginning, regrowing your hair takes time, so you’ll need to be patient. Hair typically grows 1/2 inch per month, so six inches per year. If you aren't dealing with serious hair loss and you're following a healthy routine, expect roughly three months to see results.
